Volunteer Planting Event @ Carnation Marsh

February 3 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Please join the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe’s Habitat Restoration Team as we restore riparian habitat in the Carnation Marsh Natural Area on Saturday, February 3rd from 10am to 1pm! We will be planting trees and shrubs to expand and diversify floodplain forest habitat in the Snoqualmie River floodplain.  Reclaiming a neglected field of blackberry, these young trees will help create much needed shade and structure in the floodplain, keep out harmful exotic plants, and create the seeds and space for native resources to thrive. Come learn about the work the Snoqualmie Tribe is doing in the area, how this work connects to salmon and other wildlife, and listen in on the nearby bird sanctuary!

This event will happen rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Rain gear, boots, and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy are recommended. Bring your own water bottle and coffee mug to help us reduce waste. Tools, snacks, coffee, water, and gloves will be provided!

Roadside parking is available onsite, and the event will take place in the field on the west side of W Snoqualmie River Rd NE. See the attached map for more context. Search address 1005 W Snoqualmie River Rd NE, Carnation, WA 98014.

Please fill out the RSVP form below. This helps us prepare for the event. Because of the New Year, we have a new waiver for 2024 that can be filled out in the RSVP below, or by clicking here to open a new window! If you already filled it out at our January event, you don’t have to fill it out again. If you’re new to volunteering with us, the waiver is required to volunteer and you only need to fill out one for the whole 2024 calendar year!
